Ingredients
- turkey drippings
- 3 - 3 1/2 cups chicken broth (divided)
- 1/2 cup flour (all-purpose or gluten-free flour)
Here's how to make it:
- Pour the turkey drippings into a large 4-cup glass measuring cup. Remove most of the fat from the surface of the turkey drippings. (Leave as much of the turkey fat in the gravy as you desire.)
- Add enough chicken broth to the turkey drippings to measure 3 cups.
- In a saucepot, whisk together 3/4 cup of the remaining chicken broth and flour until smooth. Slowly whisk in the turkey drippings and broth. (Use gluten-free flour for a gluten-free gravy.)
- Stir in any seasonings. (Season it up by adding 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme, 1/2 teaspoon sage, 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning or just use salt and black pepper, to taste. You could also stir in fresh herbs like thyme, parsley, rosemary or chives.) Bring to a boil and cook, stirring constantly, about 2 minutes. Taste and adjust seasonings. Store the gravy in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat over low heat on the stovetop on in the microwave.

Just as an FYI - I've noticed that Campbell's generally has boxed turkey broth available during the holiday season, so for those of us who love turkey, and gravy...not that I buy more than 6 or 8 at a time, or anything... 😬
