Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 10 minutes plus 20 minutes to chill
Cook Time: 40 minutes
Total Time: 1 hour and 10 minutes
Servings: 9
Ingredients
- 10 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 1/4 cups semisweet chocolate chips (if you'd like, save a few to sprinkle on the top of the batter)
- 1 cup finely ground almond flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 eggs
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
Here's how to make it:
- Grease an 8x8-inch baking dish and place a piece of parchment on top of it. (Don’t worry, the parchment won’t fit in pan but will sit when you place the batter in it.)
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter on medium-low heat. When it is completely melted, turn off the heat and add the chocolate chips and let them sit for 1 to 2 minutes. Stir to combine until smooth. Set to the side.
- In a medium mixing bowl add the eggs, sugar and almond extract. Blend well with a fork or whisk.
- Add the chocolate mixture to the eggs and sugar and blend well.
- Add in the salt and cocoa powder and mix.
- Add the almond flour and fold the batter together.
- Use a spatula to spread the batter into the parchment paper-lined pan. Place the batter in the fridge for 20 minutes.
- After the 20 minutes of rest in the fridge, sprinkle a few chocolate chips on top, if you'd like.
- Place the pan into a preheated 350-degree F oven to bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the center is not wiggling.
- Cool brownies before cutting and enjoy! Store the brownies in an airtight container to keep them fresh.
