Country ribs are one of my favorite cuts of pork. Country pork ribs are tender, versatile, juicy and forgiving (they are hard to overcook). This Asian-style baked country pork ribs recipe follows all those rules, plus with strong Asian ingredients, is on flavor overload.
These high-protein, marinated pork ribs have a simple list of ingredients and bake in less than two hours. Here is your short shopping list for this pork recipe: country-stye pork ribs, brown sugar, soy sauce or tamari (for a gluten-free dinner use tamari), rice vinegar, ketchup, garlic powder, ground ginger, sriracha sauce, sea salt and black pepper.
These juicy, Asian-inspired glazed pork ribs are a satisfying dinner served with your favorite side dishes. I served mine with a garden salad and pickled ginger, which helps cut through the richness of the ribs. Try it!

Cuisine: Asian / American
Prep Time: 10 minutes plus time to marinate
Cook Time: 2 hours
Total Time: 2 hours and 10 minutes plus time to marinate
Servings: 6
Ingredients
- 2 - 3 pounds country-style pork ribs
Marinade/Glaze
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce or tamari (tamari is gluten-free)
- 1/2 cup rice vinegar
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 tablespoon sriracha (or to taste)
- 1 teaspoon sea salt (or to taste)
- black pepper, to taste
Here's how to make it:
- Combine all the marinade ingredients in a plastic food storage bag or shallow dish. Squish or stir to combine.
- Add the ribs and turn to coat completely in the marinade, seal or cover, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours and up to overnight. (I marinated my ribs for about four hours.)
- When ready to cook, remove the ribs from the marinade. Drain the marinade into a small saucepot. Place the ribs on a large piece of aluminum foil on a baking sheet. (If you have time, let the ribs sit for about 30 minutes before cooking to come to room temperature. If you don't have the time, that's fine.)
- Seal the ribs tightly in the foil. Bake in a preheated 300-degree F oven for about 1 1/2 hours, or until they are fork-tender.
- Before the ribs are done cooking, bring the marinade to a boil. Simmer, stirring, for about 3 minutes.
- Remove the ribs from the oven and glaze generously with the marinade. (You can save some of the marinade for serving or use it all now. I saved a bit to drizzle on the ribs when serving.)
- Put the ribs back into the oven, uncovered, for about 20 to 30 minutes more.
- Garnish with green onions, if desired. Store any leftover ribs in an airtight container in the fridge to eat later or use in recipes like fried rice.
