Sparkling Watermelon Lemonade Recipe For Poolside Sippin'

Summer is almost here and I'm on the lookout for new drinks to sip by the pool. Watermelon is one of my favorite summer fruits because it can aid in hydration. Lemonade is also a popular summer sippin' drink, so why not combine the two? This sparkling watermelon lemonade recipe is just what the season ordered!

To make this refreshing watermelon lemonade beverage you will need granulated sugar, water, fresh watermelon (read about the health benefits of watermelon), lemons for juicing and sparkling water. Start by making a simple syrup with the sugar and water. While it cools, chop the watermelon and squeeze the lemons. The watermelon and lemon juice are processed in a food processor or blender until smooth, then the simple syrup is added. Chill and get ready to enjoy!

Serve this fruity lemonade at your next family get-together, or just keep a pitcher in the fridge for the family to enjoy anytime.

  • 8 cups seedless watermelon chunks
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4 lemons)
  • sparkling water

Here's how to make it: 

  1. Put the sugar and water into a saucepot over medium-high heat. Cook until sugar as dissolved. Remove and cool.
  2. In a blender or food processor, pulse the watermelon until smooth. Strain the watermelon through a mesh strainer and put it back into the blender. 
  3. Add the lemon juice and 1/2 cup of the prepared simple syrup. Blend until combined. Put into the refrigerator to chill. 
  4. Serve over ice with a splash of sparkling water.
