The importance of vitamin C supplements, orange juice and citrus fruit became a much talked about topic during the coronavirus pandemic. While researchers say that no supplement, including vitamin C, can prevent or treat COVID-19, the flu or even common colds, the vitamin is still important for our health – it helps prevent or reverse cellular damage and aids in immune health.
An ICU nurse friend of mine gave me this mandarin orange water recipe that she uses for hydration and for a vitamin boost. If it's nurse recommended and can up my vitamin C intake, count me in.
To make this mandarin flavored water recipe you will need fresh mandarins (check out the health benefits of mandarins), ice, water and liquid vanilla sweetener. All the ingredients are blended together in a blender, then poured through a mesh strainer into a drinking glass or drink tumbler if you're on the go. So easy!
Variation: Want to make an adults-only version? Add a little vodka or rum.
