Slow-Cooker Brown Sugar Balsamic Glazed Pork Tenderloin Recipe Melts In Your Mouth Like Butter by John Eckels

Slow-Cooker Brown Sugar Balsamic Glazed Pork Tenderloin Recipe Melts In Your Mouth Like Butter

This brown sugar and balsamic glazed pork tenderloin recipe is great for Sunday dinner. My wife says the slow-cooked pork melts in your mouth like butter. The easy sweet and tangy pork requires minimal ingredients and starts in the slow cooker and finishes under the broiler. Since it is mostly a slow cooker recipe, minimal effort is required!

To make this succulent, tender and juicy glazed pork recipe you will need pork tenderloin, ground sage, salt, black pepper, garlic, brown sugar, cornstarch, balsamic vinegar and soy sauce. The pork tenderloin is first rubbed with the homemade rub mix, then slow cooked before the glaze comes into play. A trip under this broiler results in a melt-in-your-mouth bite of pork you won't soon forget.

Serve the shredded pork for dinner with your favorite side dishes. It would also make a great pulled pork sandwich!

Recipe Notes

  • All slow cookers are different. With my slow cooker I usually cook on high for a few hours and then switch to low.
  • I add a small bag of baby creamer potatoes and some carrots to the slow cooker so we can have potatoes and carrots along with the pork.
  • My family likes lots of sauce, so usually multiply the glaze recipe by 1 1/2.
  • I like to use my Breville smart oven for the broiling part. It is really easy to watch and control the caramelization process.
  • If you want this recipe to be gluten-free, use gluten-free soy sauce or tamari.

Here's how to make it:

  1. Combine sage, salt, pepper and minced garlic in a bowl. Rub the mixture all over the pork tenderloin.
  2. Add 1/2 cup of water to slow cooker, then add the pork tenderloin.
  3. Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours (see Recipe Notes).
  4. About an hour before serving, combing the glaze ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Spoon a small amount onto the pork tenderloin in the slow cooker.
  5. About 15 minutes before serving, remove the pork tenderloin from the slow cooker and place on a foil-lined baking pan. Lightly shred the pork. Spoon the glaze onto the partially shredded pork and place under a broiler until sauce starts to caramelize. Serve.

Love making pork in my slow cooker! It gets so tender and delicious. We have several Breville products in our kitchen that we love, but not the smart oven. Am checking that out now. Thanks for the tip, and the amazing recipe!
