Marry Me Meatballs Recipe: This 30-Minute Dinner Isn't Just a Bridesmaid

Recipes that went viral are always on my list to try. Remember when the marry me chicken recipe went viral? Now that recipe has transformed into marry me meatballs. Meatballs are another favorite of mine, so this one moved to the top of the must-make recipe list.

The meatballs are moist and flavorful, and are finished in a rich, creamy sauce. Delicious! To make this easy marry me meatballs recipe you will need ground chicken, ground turkey or ground beef, garlic, Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, milk, onion powder, panko breadcrumbs, an egg, butter, dried thyme, crushed red pepper flakes, sundried tomatoes, heavy cream and low-sodium chicken broth. Because you make the sauce while the meatballs bake, there's minimal cooking time and prep is easy.

Don't let these meatballs be the bridesmaids to the chicken! Try this easy dinner recipe soon with your favorite side dishes. I served my meatballs on a mix of brown rice and quinoa with a side of broccolini.

Recipe Notes

  • You can use ground chicken, turkey or beef for this recipe. I used ground beef.
  • I added some garlic powder into the sauce. Just a couple of shakes.
  • For some color, garnish with chopped fresh parsley or basil.

Here's how to make it:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine all the meatball ingredients. Season well with salt and black pepper.
  2. Shape into 1 1/2-inch meatballs and place on an aluminum foil or parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
  3. Bake in a preheated 400-degree F oven for about 15 minutes or until cooked through.
  4. While the meatballs bake, make the sauce. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic, thyme and crushed red pepper flakes. Cook, stirring, for 30 seconds. Add the Parmesan, sundried tomatoes, chicken broth and cream. Bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce thickens and reduces, about 5 minutes.
  5. Add the cooked meatballs into the sauce.
  6. Continue to gently simmer until sauce is to your desired thickness and meatballs are well coated. Season with more salt and pepper, if needed.
  7. Serve the meatballs over noodles, rice, quinoa or potatoes, if desired.
