Beyond Easy 2-Ingredient Creamed Spinach Recipe Cooks In 5 Minutes by Donna John

Beyond Easy 2-Ingredient Creamed Spinach Recipe Cooks In 5 Minutes

Creamed spinach is a steakhouse favorite, but it's also simple to make at home. This quick and easy two-ingredient creamed spinach recipe is loaded with flavor, but requires almost zero prep and minimal cooking time. The only prep is opening the bag of spinach and container of cheese spread. You don't even need to thaw the spinach. Now that's my kind of recipe prep!

To make this creamy skillet creamed spinach recipe you will need a tub of garlic and herb soft cheese spread and a bag of frozen chopped spinach. The two ingredients cook on the stovetop in about 5 minutes to make a gluten-free and vegetarian dish everyone will enjoy.

Creamed spinach is a tasty side dish that goes well with chicken, pork, turkey, beef and seafood. I served mine with Cuban pork chops and fried potatoes. This easy vegetable side dish recipe would be perfect for Thanksgiving because you can throw it together last minute and it doesn't take up oven space.

Recipe Notes

  • You could sauté some onion and/or garlic in the skillet in a little olive oil before adding the frozen spinach for even more flavor.
  • Try different flavors of cheese spread.
  • You could use frozen whole leaf spinach instead of chopped.

Here's how to make it:

  1. Pour the frozen spinach into a hot skillet.
  2. Cook, stirring, until spinach thaws and is heated through. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Add the cheese spread. Stir until melted and bubbly.
