Homemade Celery Salt Recipe Adds a Pop of Flavor to All Sorts of Recipes

When I discovered how easy it is to grow a celery plant from the stalk, I suddenly found myself with an abundance of celery leaves. Not a bad problem to have! I love adding celery leaves and stems to my chicken soup, chicken and dumplings, potato salad and other recipes. But I was so happy to learn how to make homemade celery salt! This is one seasoning I rarely have in my pantry. Now, I can make a batch of fresh, homemade celery salt in no time and utilize my growing celery plants!

All you need to make DIY celery salt is celery leaves and table salt. You start by drying the celery leaves in the oven and grinding them in a food processor. Stir in some table salt and you've created fresh celery salt for your recipes.

Celery salt can be used in soups, on chicken or fish, in cold salads, on a baked potato, or even to rim the glass of a bloody mary. Sprinkle this spice blend on any dish you want a pop of flavor to. For some spice, stir in some crushed red pepper flakes.
