Chili Crunch Oil Fried Eggs Recipe Is What's Been Missing In Your Life

Wow! This is one breakfast recipe that will remind you that you're alive. These chili crunch fried eggs are spicy, crunchy, crispy, silky, soft and filling. These fried eggs were the best breakfast I've had in a while. Why haven't I cooked eggs like this sooner?

Chili crunch oil is one of my favorite condiments. Chili crunch oil is a trending Asian condiment that's an crunchy chili-infused oil made with garlic, onion and other spices, depending on the brand. I use it on chicken, ramen noodles, fried rice, egg rolls, spring rolls and now eggs.

To make these spicy fried eggs you only need a few flavorful ingredients: chili crunch oil, toasted sesame oil, green onion or fresh chives and eggs. The chili crunch oil and sesame oil are heated in a nonstick skillet. Crack in the eggs, season with a pinch of salt and pepper, then cook until the egg whites are set and yolks done to your taste. Garnish with the green onion or chives and slide onto your plate.

The chili crunch oil gets crispy on the bottom of the eggs, while the egg white and yolk are soft and creamy. A delicious combination! Depending on your brand of chili crunch oil, you may need a glass of water or juice to sip on while devouring these eggs.

Serve as is or over rice or toast for a satisfying breakfast or brunch you won't soon forget.

Recipe Notes

  • I wanted my egg yolks still soft, but not runny, so I covered the pan during the last couple minutes of cooking.
  • Don't use too big of a pan. You don't want the oil to spread out too much.
  • You can omit the sesame oil, but it does add even more flavor to this egg dish.

Here's how to make it:

  1. Heat the chili crunch oil and sesame oil, if using, in a small nonstick pan over medium-low heat. Swirl the pan to distribute the oil.
  2. Crack the eggs into the pan. Season with a little salt and pepper.
  3. Let the eggs cook, undisturbed, until whites are set but yolks still runny, about 3 to 4 minutes. Sprinkle with the green onions and serve.
