Easy 6-Ingredient Triple Berry Banana Sorbet Recipe (No Ice Cream Maker Needed)

Warm weather calls for cool treats, and this easy six-ingredient triple berry banana sorbet recipe really delivers. If you're looking for a refreshing summer dessert recipe, look no further. This simple sorbet recipe is fresh and fruity and fun for everyone.

One of the world's best sources of antioxidants, berries help protect your cells from damage by free radicals. Berries are high in fiber and nutrients, and they can help with cholesterol, inflammation, blood pressure and blood sugar. Bananas are loaded with potassium and may help lower your risk of stroke, among the many other health benefits of bananas. All that nutrition makes this easy, delicious frozen yogurt a healthy snack recipe you'll want to make again and again.

The shopping list for this fabulous fro-yo recipe is simple, and you may already have these ingredients in your house: blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, a banana, yogurt and honey. It takes only about 10 minutes to prepare this light and lovely "ice cream" recipe, making it the perfect treat for summer holiday gatherings or any day of the week. The hardest part is waiting for it to freeze so you can enjoy the berry goodness!

Recipe Notes

  • If you don't have fresh fruit, you can use frozen fruit.
  • You can modify this recipe by using a different combination of berries, such as blackberries and raspberries, blueberries and strawberries, etc.
  • You can use dairy-free yogurt if you prefer a dairy-free version of this recipe.
  • You can use Greek yogurt if you want a creamier frozen yogurt texture.
  • You can add a teaspoon of lemon juice or a teaspoon of vanilla, if desired, but those are optional.

Here's how you make it:

  1. Put all the ingredients into a stand mixer or a blender. I used a stand mixer because I wanted a chunkier result, to taste the bits of fruit. A blender will provide a smoother sorbet.
  2. Mix or blend for about 3 minutes, or until you reach your desired consistency.
  3. Pour the sorbet mixture into a loaf pan or other freezable container. Freeze for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
  4. Serve sorbet in your favorite ice cream bowls and top with whipped cream or additional berries, if desired.
