4-Ingredient Vanilla Sponge Cake Recipe Is As Simple As It Gets by 30Seconds Food
Four ingredients is all it takes to make a light and fluffy vanilla sponge cake. This sponge cake recipe is baked in a 6-inch round cake pan. If you have a larger pan, the cake will be thinner and require less baking time.

Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 3/8 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 5/8 cup cake flour or all-purpose flour
Here's how to make it:
- Combine the eggs and sugar in a bowl. Beat with an electric mixer until it is light and foamy. Add the vanilla and continue mixing.
- Sift the flour into the mixture and stir until there are no clumps. Whisk the batter until well combined, then use a spatula to fold the mixture.
- Pour the batter into a 6-inch round baking pan that's been lined with parchment paper. Drop the pan on the counter to remove any air bubbles.
- Bake in a preheated 320-degree F oven for about 25 to 30 minutes or until golden on top. Cool completely before removing from the pan.
Note: The original recipe is called three-ingredient sponge cake. The vanilla was optional. We feel that this ingredient is important to the cake, so our recipe is a four-ingredient vanilla sponge cake.
