- 2 tablespoons butter
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 cup cauliflower florets
- 1 cup fresh asparagus, cut into 1-inch pieces
Here's how to make it:
- Put the butter, cream cheese and cream into a saucepot. Stir over low heat until melted.
- Add the cheddar and mozzarella, garlic and mustard. Season with salt and pepper. Stir until melted together and creamy. (Use whatever mustard you enjoy, from Dijon to yellow to spicy to whole-grain.)
- Put the vegetables into a casserole dish. Pour the cheese sauce over the top, making sure everything is covered. (You could use frozen vegetables for this recipe. Make sure they are thawed before using. Omit or double up on whatever vegetable you like to fit your family's tastes.)
- Bake in a preheated 350-degree F oven for about 30 minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh herbs, if desired. Serve. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat in the microwave.
