To make the patriotic red, white and blue appetizer recipe you will need just four simple ingredients. Here is what you need to grab at the grocery store: fresh blueberries, a watermelon, white block cheese (think feta, Swiss, mozzarella balls, etc.) and mozzarella cheese slices.&
Not only are you making a fun and festive patriotic snack for your friends, family and neighbors, but they'll get the health benefits of watermelon and the health benefits of blueberries.

Ingredients
- blueberries
- watermelon, cut into squares
- white cheese, block (feta, mozzarella, Monterey Jack, white cheddar, Swiss, etc.), cut into cubes
- mozzarella cheese slices
Recipe Notes
- You will also need small star cookie cutter or a sharp knife, a white rectangular platter and toothpicks for this recipe.
- Store the prepared platter in the fridge until ready to serve.
Here's how to make it:
- On a serving platter, arrange the watermelon, cheese and blueberries to look like a flag (see photo).
- Cut stars out of the mozzarella cheese slices with a small star cookie cutter (or free-hand it carefully with a sharp knife).
- Lay the cheese stars on top of the blueberries. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve with toothpicks.
