Looking for a fun recipe to make for the family this weekend or want to do some simple (very simple!) baking therapy? You won't believe how easy this cinnamon roll bread recipe is to make – and it only has three ingredients. Taylor Swift, however, may not approve.
While I'm too old to be considered a "Swiftie," I do enjoy her music. Last night I watched Jimmy Fallon interview Taylor Swift on The Tonight Show and learned she is a baker. Right now her obsession is sourdough, but she mentioned that she baked cinnamon rolls to celebrate the arrival of fall. I'm sure her cinnamon rolls were from scratch and amazing, but I still give props to this cinnamon roll bread recipe. The shortcut recipe is quick, easy and can be devoured in no time.
This sweet cinnamon roll bread recipe starts with canned cinnamon rolls. Genius, right? No mixing, kneading and rolling out dough. Just pop the can open and get to baking! Here is your short and sweet shopping list for this cinnamon bread: refrigerated cinnamon rolls, ground cinnamon and granulated sugar. The cinnamon rolls are ready to be eaten in about 40 minutes.
Serve this homemade cinnamon rolls bread for breakfast, brunch, as a sweet snack or for dessert after dinner. How about serving them warm with some vanilla ice cream?
Maybe soon Taylor will share her cinnamon roll recipe with us – or one of her sourdough recipes. After, of course, she's done living the life of a showgirl.
Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 40 minutes
Servings: 12
Ingredients
- 24.8 ounces refrigerated cinnamon rolls (2 8-count cans)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3 teaspoons granulated sugar
Here's how to make it:
- Butter a loaf pan. Separate the cinnamon rolls and place them in the pan, staggered, until the entire pan is full.
- Combine the cinnamon and sugar. Sprinkle it over the loaf. (You could even sprinkle it between each roll as you layer. Try adding other warm fall spices like pumpkin pie spice, cardamom, nutmeg, allspice or cloves. You could sprinkle nuts between the cinnamon roll layers to add a crunch factor.)
- Bake in a preheated 350-degree F oven for about 30 to 40 minutes, or until rolls are cooked and golden.
- While the loaf bakes, put the cream cheese icing that comes with the cinnamon rolls in a small bowl. Microwave for about 30 to 45 seconds until hot and smooth.
- Remove the loaf from the oven and immediately drizzle the icing over the top.
