Maple-Glazed Grilled Pork Chops Recipe With Apples Is a Dynamite Dinner by Chef Gigi

If you're like me, you love to grill all year round. And I love pork chops. This flavor-packed maple-glazed pork chop recipe with apples is a quick and tasty pork dinner any night of the week. A bonus? The pork chops are ready in about 30 minutes.
Pork chops are seasoned with salt and black pepper before being grilled to your desired doneness. To make the apples, melt the butter and sugar together in a saucepot. Add the apples and cook until tender (don't let them brown). Remove the apples and add the brown sugar, lemon juice, pineapple or orange juice and broth. Reduce the sauce a bit then add the maple syrup. Use this sauce to glaze the pork chops at the end of their cooking time. Add the apples to the remaining glaze and serve them with the juicy pork chops.
Serve these maple pork chops for dinner with your favorite side dishes. I like broccolini, asparagus or brussels spouts and a grain like quinoa or brown rice. But you can serve them more casual with french fries and a salad. If you don't want the apples on your pork chops, serve them on the side.
Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 4 pork chops, bone in
- 2 ounces butter
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 Granny Smith apples, medium dice, skin on
- 1/2 cup bone broth or meaty beef stock
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup pineapple juice or fresh-squeezed orange juice
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
Here’s how to make it:
- In a large saucepan on high heat, melt the butter and white sugar. Add the apples and sauté until brown, but not cooked through, about 1 to 2 minutes. Season with salt and remove with a slotted spoon. Set aside in single layer on a sheet pan.
- Add brown sugar, fruit juices and broth. Reduce liquid slightly and then add maple syrup. Stir to form a sauce. Remove from heat.
- Heat the grill. Rub both sides of the pork chops with salt and pepper. Oil the grill and the pork chops slightly. Place chops on the grill and cook until desired temperature, brushing with the glaze during the last minutes of cooking.
- Bring any remaining glaze to a boil to thicken. Add apples and stir to coat. Top the pork chops with the apples and maple glaze.
