You can always find a can of salmon in my pantry. When my kids were little, it was an easy dinner for those busy school nights. Here's a different twist on the traditional salmon patties. This cheesy salmon patties recipes can stick very easily because of the cheese, so be sure to use a nonstick pan and keep an eye on them.

Ingredients
- 1 large can salmon, drained and flaked
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/3 cup self-rising flour
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- oil, for frying
Here's how to make it:
- Mix all ingredients together well. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Shape into patties.
- Heat a little oil in a nonstick pan and cook until browned on both sides, about 4 to 5 minutes. Serve.
