Summer Is Sweet Corn Season: Here's My Secret to Perfect Corn on the Cob!

Summer is the season of sweet corn and watermelon. When summer comes I make sweet corn about once a week – all summer! Such a tasty treat. Here is how to make it perfect, tender and not overdone, every time.

You'll need:

  • corn on the cob, shucked
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Here's how to make it:

  1. Place shucked corn on the cob in a large stock pot. Cover completely with cold water.
  2. Add the sugar and lemon juice to the pot. This keeps the corn from getting mushy and also makes it perfectly tender.
  3. Bring water to boil. Cover. Shut off heat. Let it sit 10 minutes.

Voila! Perfect corn!

Serve with plenty of butter! So much yum!

I have heard this! Just not great at grilling! My husband grills the meat, I make the sides.

Lime juice works too! I was out of lemon juice today, but I had lime juice! 🙂
