Summer Is Sweet Corn Season: Here's My Secret to Perfect Corn on the Cob! by Heather Holter
Summer is the season of sweet corn and watermelon. When summer comes I make sweet corn about once a week – all summer! Such a tasty treat. Here is how to make it perfect, tender and not overdone, every time.
- corn on the cob, shucked
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Here's how to make it:
- Place shucked corn on the cob in a large stock pot. Cover completely with cold water.
- Add the sugar and lemon juice to the pot. This keeps the corn from getting mushy and also makes it perfectly tender.
- Bring water to boil. Cover. Shut off heat. Let it sit 10 minutes.
Voila! Perfect corn!
Serve with plenty of butter! So much yum!
