"Can I have a side of ranch?" If I only had a dollar for every time I heard that when going out to eat. Finding the best ranch salad dressing when eating out has become a habit of mine. If the restaurant makes their ranch homemade it will be on my salad. And I always have a bottle of ranch in the fridge for dipping and recipes (try my rosemary ranch marinated chicken).
The ranch obsession has gone to new heights, however, with the 2026 FIFA™ World Cup in the U.S. It's reported that the international soccer fans visiting the U.S. are going crazy for our ranch dressing. The TSA is humorously joking, reminding people heading home to check full-sized bottles of ranch dressing in their bags, unless they're satisfied with a 3.4-ounce bottle in their carry-ons. Instead of smuggling the ranch, wait until you get home and make homemade ranch dressing!
The best ranch salad dressing is homemade anyway. Here are two versions of homemade ranch dressing to try. One is a quick version when you're short on time or there's not a fresh herb within miles. The other takes a just a little more time but showcases those fresh, healthy herbs. My family loves both.
Use this ranch dressing on anything, from french fries (aka chips) to salads to chicken wings to pizza to burgers to ... Wonder what our international friends will use it on when they're back at home?
Pro Tip: Why not take home packets of a dry ranch salad dressing mix? They don't take up much room in the suitcase!
