Greetings from Spain! Can you believe this view?

Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey is an abbey of the Order of Saint Benedict on the mountain of Montserrat in in Monistrol de Montserrat, Catalonia, Spain. The mountain, of religious significance since pre-Christian time, is located approximately 45 km northwest of Barcelona. At 1,236 meters high, the mountain offers an incredible view.

From the monastery, it is about 300 meters to the peak of the mountain. A funicular, similar to a cable car system, goes almost all the way up to the summit. From there, several well-marked and popular hiking trails lead through the nature park Montserrat. At 1,236 meters high, the mountain offers an incredible view.

Renowned for enshrining the image of the virgin of Montserrat, the abbey draws thousands of pilgrims and tourists. The monastery was founded in the 10th century, and more than 150 monks still live there. Being at Montserrat is a spiritually breathtaking experience!
