Ristorante Forassiepi in Montecarlo, Italy: The Perfect Dinner in the Hills of Tuscany by Sheri B Doyle
Twelve years ago close friends took us to one of their favorite restaurants in Italy. I had no idea driving up the winding hill to Montecarlo, in Tuscany, that this restaurant would forever set the bar for the rest of my life. Located at the end of a Tuscan hillside, through an ancient archway, Ristorante Forassiepi offers some of the best food in the world. I knew I was in good company when I saw photos of presidents hanging on the wall, all whom have requested the chef, Antonio, to cook for them.
The quiet elegance inside the restaurant, along with the gorgeous views of Tuscany below, all set the stage for the delicious food. Each evening I have dined here the prosecco and wine has flowed freely, each carefully selected to compliment the delicacies the staff creates. Plates of fresh seafood, vegetarian as I never imagined and desserts as beautiful as they are delicious, create memorable experiences. It seems there is no end to the creativity of the staff, as each meal is a completely unique experience.
Never have we ordered from the menu, always leaving everything up to Chef Antonio and his staff. Never have I been disappointed. The elegance of the interior, the impeccable service and warmth of the staff are as impressive as the sunsets over the Tuscan hills outside.
