The Best Mother's Day Gifts: How to Make a DIY Herb Garden by Jan Mostrom

I love cooking recipes with fresh ingredients, especially fresh herbs from a garden. During spring and summer I usually grow a few of my own, but I never thought to share them as a hostess or Mother's Day gift until I received this beautiful pot from a friend. This gift is really so easy and can be put together quickly – or take a little longer if you want to include the kids in the project. Whatever is the case, your gift will be enjoyed for a long time!
You'll need:
- 3 - 4 herbs (rosemary, thyme, oregano, rosemary, Italian flat-leaf parsley, basil, mint, sage or any other herb of choice)
- pot
- potting soil
Here's how to make it:
- Place a small amount of soil in the pot.
- Loosen roots from herbs and gently place into pot.
- Fill in around herbs with soil.
It's that easy! And while you're doing it make one for yourself, too!
