The Best Mother's Day Gifts: How to Make a DIY Herb Garden

I love cooking recipes with fresh ingredients, especially fresh herbs from a garden. During spring and summer I usually grow a few of my own, but I never thought to share them as a hostess or Mother's Day gift until I received this beautiful pot from a friend. This gift is really so easy and can be put together quickly – or take a little longer if you want to include the kids in the project. Whatever is the case, your gift will be enjoyed for a long time!

You'll need:

  • 3 - 4 herbs (rosemary, thyme, oregano, rosemary, Italian flat-leaf parsley, basil, mint, sage or any other herb of choice)
  • pot
  • potting soil

Here's how to make it:

  1. Place a small amount of soil in the pot.
  2. Loosen roots from herbs and gently place into pot.
  3. Fill in around herbs with soil.

It's that easy! And while you're doing it make one for yourself, too!
