What If I Told You I Was a Teacher? What If We #StopTheViolence?

What if I told you I was a teacher?

What if I told you I'd rather spend time planning lessons, grading papers and teaching your child instead of worrying about lockdowns?

What if I told you that I'm tired of being angry?

What if I told you that I'm tired of being told that my anger is political?

What if I told you that, like millions of educators, I'd get in front of a bullet for your child, but that doesn't mean I want to carry a gun in my classroom?

What if I told you that I have two babies of my own, but your child is my child, too?

What if I told you that we don't have to be sad, scared and heartbroken?

What if we said something? What if we did something?

What if 2018 was the year we finally stopped the madness?
