Florida School Shooting: Where Is God When the Darkness Looms? Why You Need to Be the Light! by Kristan Wager

Seventeen children dead. Shot by a 19-year-old just barely past childhood.
Where was God? How does a loving God allow such horror? How does this happen so often? What is God doing about all this darkness?
I won't pretend to have the answers to these soul-wrenching questions. I will stand on what I know to be true: He is there and His heart is broken, too. The heart of God has been broken by men since Adam and Eve exercised their God-given free will and ate the apple and were cast out of Eden.
Free will. The gift and the curse. The light and the dark.
God is there, but God needs us. Choose to be light. Let your faith shine so that the darkness recedes. One match lit in the darkness makes the darkness flee. Mr. Roger's mother knew this, she told him to "look for the helpers" when the darkness loomed. Psalm 139:12 states, "Even the darkness is not dark to you." God sees and uses our light in the darkness. Choose to be light. Be a "helper." Fight the darkness with the light of love. There is so much hate and darkness around. God needs people of faith to choose light over fear. Seventeen families and a nation grieve.
Chase the darkness. Faith over fear. Love over hate.
