Everyone Needs a Tribe: How a Book Club Can Become Yours! by Ann Marie Patitucci

I moved to a new city almost two years ago and one of my biggest worries was finding a support system, a tribe of women friends. I lived in a small, close-knit community for 11 years, and I was blessed with a group of wonderful, supportive friends. I wondered: How could I possibly find what I had before, especially in a much larger place? And then I found it ... when I joined a book club. I was simply looking for people who loved books as much as I did, but I found so much more – friends to laugh with, commiserate with, even cry with.
It occurs to me now that this makes perfect sense. Unlike an exercise class or similar activities, a book club is designed to get people talking – and those conversations often extend beyond the themes of the book. Our book club has become our social circle. We get together for girls’ nights as well as kid-friendly events. Most importantly, we have become each other’s tribe, and I am forever grateful that on a warm spring night we sat together and discussed Kristin Hannah’s "The Nightingale," and so much more.
Guess what? 30Seconds has started a book club! Get the details!
