Candida Overgrowth: 4 Surprising Symptoms They May Point to Yeast Overgrowth Women's Health

Overgrowth of candida, or yeast, in the body is a very common problem. Most women are familiar with it as vaginal yeast infections. What they don’t know, however, is that yeast overgrowth is also commonly seen in the sinuses and intestines, which can cause significant symptoms if ignored.

Unfortunately, unlike vaginal candida, there’s no test that distinguishes normal growth from overgrowth in the sinuses and intestines. Because of this, doctors have been slow to become aware of candida overgrowth problems. The good news? Once you are aware of it, treatment can be fairly straightforward. And you may find that your energy improves and pain and “brain fog” go away! Here are the common symptoms of candida overgrowth:

  • Itchy ears? Ever feel like you just want to stick a pencil in your ears and scratch. That’s fungal overgrowth in the ears.
  • Small painful sores in your mouth lasting about 10 days where the gum meets the lip? These apthous ulcers are the tip of the iceberg for a bigger candida overgrowth problem.
  • Postnasal drip, chronic nasal congestion or chronic sinusitis?Mayo Clinic study showed that over 90 percent of chronic sinusitis is fungal.
  • Got gas? Most cases of irritable bowel syndrome come from candida overgrowth. The exception? If the gas has a sulfur rotten egg smell (think of the “silent but deadly” from grade school), this suggests a bacterial overgrowth called small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. For the latter, use an herbal mix called Ultra Forte MFP.

These symptoms are the tip of the iceberg for a bigger problem of candida overgrowth. Ignored, it can cause significant fatigue and body-wide achiness, and even progress to fibromyalgia when it gets severe. The free phone app, Cures A-Z, can guide people on how to get rid of the candida. Start with a good probiotic, like Colon and Bowel Probiotic by EuroPharma, and cutting out excess sugar. The book, "The Complete Guide to Beating Sugar Addiction," will show you how to come off sugar easily, while still enjoying your sweet tooth.
