Zen Out With Your Kids: How to Introduce Meditation to Children Mindfulness
Staying mindful is harder for adults than it is for children. Children are the MASTERS of mindfulness. On the contrary, calming down and relaxing at certain times of the day is a bit easier for us adults than it is for our little ones.
Help both yourself and your child out by inviting them to meditate with you at the end of the day (or anytime, really!). It teaches them to calm down their busy little brains and bodies before bed. I have noticed a huge difference in the quality of sleep my son is getting. Don't know where to start? There are tons of applications you can download. Some of my favorites are:
- Meditation Studio (free, and has specific kid's meditations)
All I do is turn the lights off in my room, have my soft light diffuser going with a calming oil such as Frankincense, sit with my son on my bed and enjoy the calming and amazing effects of meditation! It's our new favorite bedtime ritual.
