Stop Stressing: Stress May Lead to Cardiovascular Issues Like Heart Attack & Stroke! Mindfulness Heart Health

Note to self: stop stressing! Harvard researchers found that people with elevated levels of activity in the stress/fear center of the brain also have high inflammation in their arteries, which puts them at increased risk for cardiovascular events such as heart attack and stroke. 

"The risk of heart disease linked to stress is on par with that for smoking, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes, yet relatively little is done to address this risk compared to other risk factors,” said Dr. Ahmed Tawako, co-author of the study.
