Wake Up Your Face: Three Makeup Products to Help Brighten Your Look & Give You a Glow by Elisa Schmitz

On a recent trip to Ulta Beauty, I found three new products to help brighten my face and give it a glow.
Nothing can make you look more tired than dark circles under your eyes. I love that you can test products before you buy them at Ulta. After trying several concealers, I ultimately selected BARESKIN Complete Coverage Serum Concealer by bareMinerals, in the shade of Fair. This light and silky smooth concealer doubles as a serum to provide complete, all-day coverage. Formulated with antioxidant lilac plant stem cells, it glides over fine lines and, just like that, reduces the appearance of dark circles. The minerals in the makeup hydrate the under-eye area and help diffuse imperfections, giving skin a brighter finish. I feel like I look more rested when I'm wearing it!
You know how it's said that having sex can make you glow? I think that's the idea behind the NARS powder blush I bought, in the shade of Orgasm. Its the perfect shade of peachy pink with a golden undertone, making it work for a variety of skin colors. This blush has been around for years and has a huge celebrity following, including Jennifer Lawrence, Catherine Zeta-Jones and even Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, who was quoted as saying it gives her "a nice glow from within." I'm now a member of this product's cult following!
MAC is known for its great lipsticks, but I hadn't really tried them until Ulta's 21 Days of Beauty promotion, where it was a featured product. Pro tip: Join the Ultamate Rewards program so you receive notifications when items go on sale. That's how I discovered MAC CremeSheen lipstick, in a very different shade than I'm used to wearing (Creme In Your Coffee). It's a warm-toned, medium-to-dark pink that looks natural, yet boosts your lips with a creamy semi-gloss finish. Since I usually wear red lipstick, this color pushed me a bit outside of my comfort zone, but I love it. I wear it on the days when I want a more natural look and it's really a great change of pace!
