Quality of Life: The Art & Power of Daily Meditation Practice

Our mind is at work all day, every day. Every decision we make, every challenge that we face, every moment we go through in life, our mind is our constant companion – and it can be our best friend or our worst enemy.

The good news is that we can afford to go on a vacation every day, even more than once a day, without going away and spending money. We can enjoy a period of freedom from our daily tasks, stress and at the same time renew our energy and enjoy inner peace. We can all enjoy such a vacation when we practice meditation. More and more people are coming to realize that one’s quality of life depends largely on one’s quality of mind.

Meditation is that space when the thoughts have subsided, and the mind is at complete rest. When you are really happy, reposing in love, you are meditating. When the mind settles down, it lets go of tension and stress and centers itself in the present moment. Daily practice of meditation helps with:

  • Reducing levels of stress
  • Supporting the immune system
  • Increasing antioxidant protection
  • Enhancing brain function and peace of mind

If you want to improve the quality of your life then make meditation a part of your daily routine.

I have a daily practice. What I hear most often from others is, 'I can't do it,' meaning get rid of your thoughts. In my experience that is never the goal. Instead it is to allow thoughts to be just that - what they are. And instead focus on expanding your awareness.

Donna John Ideally they say 21 minutes is what you need. But I have a smaller version of light channelling (extremely powerful to manifest desires too) meditation and another one which is a guided meditation which is 15 minutes long. I was never a meditation person. WOuld do for a week maybe and then give up. But with these two meditations I have been consistent for the past 4 months. What surprised me the most and you could say was my AHA moment was the fact that my 6 ear old son would sit down and join me even without my asking. And then he started liking it so much that he insists on doing the meditation even if I forget. I think with meditation is important to find something that resonates with you. There are so many different forms available but if it doesn't speak to your heart it wont be consistent (done forcefully and not from within) and when you find the one meditation that is made just for you then there is no turning back. I am sharing the You Tube links of the two techniques that have changed my life. I hope it's fine to share here. www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAD53K... , www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBmlvI...

Stephanie Cannoe I agree! We have a different vision of meditation and think we should stop all thoughts but in reality it's just the other way round.
