Reiki for Stress Relief: Learn About This Spiritually Guided Stress-Reduction Technique

The word Reiki is made of two words – rei which means "God’s wisdom" or "the higher power," and ki which is "life force energy." Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. Reiki is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you, which treats the whole person – body, emotions, mind and spirit. Reiki has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and always inspires. The benefit is deep relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being. Many have reported miraculous results.

OMGoodness! Love this simple and easy to understand explanation of what I considered an "out-of-MY-box" experience. Even though I was unsure about trying it...reiki was & is a life changing experience! Great for those trying to get out of their heads and "feel" joyful living! Thanks Stephanie Cannoe !

Kristy Dominiak I couldn't agree more. Reiki is so much more than we can understand and it is individual to your needs. We all know the power of touch. And the win-win is self-care for both 'receivers.' A beautiful gift to and the best part is there is nothing YOU need to do. You just have to receive.

Thank you for sharing this, interesting how little known reiki is. The first time I had a reiki treatment was a few days after 9/11. We were supposed to go La Jolla the 12th, but since the airlines were shut down we drove to Jackson WY (we're 6 hrs to the east) and stayed at the Amangani resort instead. For whatever reason it jumped out at me when I was looking for a spa treatment. So in the shadows of the majestic and what many consider magical, Teton Mountains I had a more than profound experience and was hooked. Only downside is finding a good master!

Stacey Roberts Thank you for sharing. I agree Reiki is whatever you need, as deeply as you enter any experience is equal to the level of transformation. And we all have a unique vibrational frequency and gifts to share with each other in this way. Healing is never one sided in my experience.

Thank you for sharing this, Stephanie Cannoe . It sounds like I could use a Reiki session, stat! 🙏

Elisa All Schmitz 30Seconds I find it's always a positive uplifting experience. I have been a practitioner since 1999 and I have not gone a day without using Reiki energy or as I relate to it, light and love, as part of my self-care routine. Healing does not justify the depth of My transformation and the connection to who I am. I give you the highest recommendation possible - go for it, try it and see what you find. 💓

I’m adding this to my list of goals for 2018. Thank you for sharing, Stephanie Cannoe . You are a light in the world, my friend. ⭐️

Thank you for this post, Stephanie! I just got certified in Reiki 1 and have been practicing for a few weeks on myself and my dog. I also gave two colleagues a Reiki session and they told me to "keep doing it because it works!" :-) This write up is a great way to help explain to others what it is about. Blessings!
Stephanie Cannoe
You're welcome. A daily practice in self-love. Keep doing it! 💓

Not sure why this popped up in my feed again. Maybe we need to have a Covid Zoom Reiki share? I’m a Reiki Master/Teacher now! 😉💕 💆‍♀️
Stephanie Cannoe
I'd be interested to Reiki share sometime! ❤
