Is Water Healing or Hurting You? Here Are 4 Things You Need to Know About Water by Michele Gelman
We all have heard to drink a lot of water. If you are sedentary, you should drink half your body weight in ounces each day, and even more if you're active. Here are four things you need to know about water:
- The quality of water we drink is very important. Our cells won’t absorb toxic, poor-quality water and we can end up chronically dehydrated. Drink filtered water or buy it in glass bottles to reduce toxins.
- Plastics leach xenoestrogens that are endocrine disruptors and can wreak havoc upon our bodies. Soft plastics leach chemicals so you can end up drinking plastic tea if you leave the plastic bottle in a hot car.
- Cans leach aluminum into the water.
- Fresh, organic vegetables are a great source of water!
