It can be frustrating when you can’t fall asleep. Try this easy yoga technique the next time sleep is eluding you.
- Lie on your right side
- Use your right thumb (or one of your other fingers) to close off your right nostril
- Breathe through your left nostril
You may find it difficult to breathe through your left nostril at first. That’s because your right nostril is dominate when you are wide awake, and it’s part of the reason you can’t fall asleep. You can “cheat” a little if you need to let some air in through your right nostril until your body starts to make the switch. Once you are breathing through the left nostril, relax, watch your breath and fall asleep!
