Telling yourself you’re not allowed certain foods is a sure way to crave them, and then when you experience negative emotions, overeating provides temporary comfort. This typically cycles into feelings of guilt and shame. Ask yourself these three questions:

  • Why isn’t this strategy working for you now? 
  • Can you forgive yourself?
