When a baby is teething, it can be difficult to know if it’s just teeth or another underling problem that is making him or her uncomfortable. Teething and ear infections are often confused since they can have similar symptoms. If your baby as any of these signs, teeth are likely the problem:

• has a fever 
• is tugging at his ears 
• has excessive drooling
• swollen gums 
• excessive mouthing on objects
