Ingredients
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup almond butter or peanut butter
- 1/3 cup pure maple syrup (dark maple syrup is best)
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup ghee, melted, or extra virgin olive oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 cup water
- 3 ounces bittersweet chocolate (at least 70% cacao), chopped
Here's how to make it:
- Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with two pieces of parchment that overlap in a cross. Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F.
- In a large mixing bowl, add all ingredients except for the chocolate. Mix the ingredients together until smooth.
- Add the chocolate pieces and fold into the batter.
- Using a spatula, scrape the batter into the parchment paper-lined pan.
- Place in the oven for about 22 to 25 minutes. The brownies should be a bit puffed up and a toothpick inserted into the center should have just a few crumbs attached.
- Allow brownies to cool. When ready to serve, pull the parchment out from the pan and cut into 16 pieces. Enjoy! Store the brownies in an airtight container to keep them fresh.
