Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Recipe with Trader Joe’s Rolled Oats Is Gluten-Free Goodness Breakfast Grains Gluten-free
What is it about Trader Joe’s? That store offers so many fascinating products we’ve talked about on 30Seconds, from chili onion crunch to orange chicken to sunflower butter cookies. Yep, we’re fans!
Another Trader Joe’s product I’m a fan of is its rolled oats. From the package: “Trader Joe’s Rolled Oats are pure, gluten-free oats grown in dedicated oat fields and packaged in a gluten-free facility. These old-fashioned style oats are full of flavor and have a satisfying chewy texture perfect for oatmeal cookies and granola or ground into oat flower for baking. Each half cup serving of cooked oatmeal provided 16g of whole grains.”
I came up with this easy apple cinnamon oatmeal recipe using these yummy oats. Hope you enjoy it for breakfast as much as I do!

Servings: 3 to 4
Ingredients
- 3 cups water
- 1 1/2 cups Trader Joe’s Rolled Oats (or your favorite gluten-free oats)
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 medium apple, diced
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 3 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Here’s how to make it:
- In a medium saucepan, bring water and salt to a boil. Reduce heat and add oats. Cook for about 5 minutes. Add in diced apples, brown sugar, vanilla and cinnamon. Cook another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add in raisins and walnuts, if using. Cook, stirring occasionally, another 5 minutes or until desired consistency.
- Remove from heat, cover and let stand for a couple minutes before serving.
