I peeled and diced four honeycrisp apples and added an additional cup of oats and another 3/4 cup of almond milk to ensure plenty of leftovers. (I’m a big fan of my 13x9-inch baking pan.) I added a 1/2 cup of chopped pecans, a 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts and an extra teaspoon of cinnamon for good measure, but those are optional. Check out the health benefits of apples and the health benefits of walnuts.
To make this nutritious, delicious apple baked oatmeal recipe, here are the gluten-free ingredients you'll need to gather: rolled oats, baking powder, salt, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, apples, milk, egg whites, vanilla and maple syrup. The chopped pecans and/or walnuts are optional. You could even add some raisins, too. You just combine the nourishing ingredients then bake up the oatmeal until the kitchen smells like apple pie.
This easy baked oatmeal recipe turned out even more delicious than I expected. It has a cake-like consistency, yet it tastes like apple pie, so I topped it with a bit of whipped cream, just for fun. What a great new way to eat oatmeal for breakfast! This is a great meal-planning recipe, too.
