Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast or thighs (or a combination), cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger
  • 3 tablespoons sake
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 cup potato starch or corn starch

Here's how to make it:

  1. Put the chicken into a bowl. Add the ginger, sake and oyster sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
  2. To air fry, coat the basket with nonstick cooking spray. Dip the chicken into the potato starch then place in the air fryer basket. Lightly spray the chicken with nonstick cooking spray. Cook at 360 degrees F for about 20 to 25 minutes, turning the chicken every 5 minutes, until chicken is crispy and cooked through.
  3. To bake, dip the chicken into the potato starch and place on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray. Bake in a preheated 400-degree F oven for 20 to 25 minutes, flipping the chicken halfway through.
