At the grocery store, I like to grab an ingredient I've never used from time to time. My last discovery was furikake. Furikake is a Japanese seasoning blend made with seaweed, dried fish, sesame seeds and other seasonings. In Japan it is often used on rice, vegetables and fish. Furikake has health benefits, too!
Not sure how to use it yet, I decided to go simple and add some flavor to an avocado. It added lots of umami flavor. The next time you grab an avocado as a snack, instead of making avocado toast, jazz it up with furikake!
How do you use furikake? Let me know in the comments section below!
