Today, many of us tend to grab a tub of that premade cake frosting instead of making it from scratch like grandma did. This easy brown sugar cake frosting recipe is sweet, creamy and addictive.
To make grandma's creamy brown sugar frosting you will need two sticks of butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract, powdered sugar and heavy cream. The ingredients are beaten together with an electric mixer until creamy and spreadable. Yum!
Ever wonder what brown sugar is, really? Brown sugar is a refined white sugar that has molasses added to it. You can buy light or dark brown sugar. The only difference between the two sugars is the amount of molasses added.
Use the brown sugar icing on cakes or cupcakes – and the leftovers are great on pancakes and waffles or dip cookies in it.
