Iconic Cincinnati Chili Recipe: This Easy Ground Beef Chili Recipe Has Bragging Rights Beef Pasta Dinner

Ingredients

• 2 pounds lean ground beef 
• 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
• 4 cups water
• 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
• 1 onion, minced 
• 5 - 6 cloves garlic, minced
• 3 tablespoons chili powder
• 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/4 teaspoon allspice
• dash of ground cloves
• ground cayenne, to taste
• 2 teaspoons sea salt
• 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
• 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
• 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate (optional)

Garnishes

• spaghetti noodles, cooked
• shredded cheddar cheese
• chopped onion
• oyster crackers
• 1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans, drained, rinsed and warmed (optional)

Here's how to make it: 

1. Put the tomato paste into a large soup pot and cook, stirring, about 2 minutes. 
2. Add all the remaining ingredients except the chocolate (if using) and mix well. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, about 1 to 3 hours, depending on how thick you want the chili and how much time you have. 
3. Add the chocolate and stir until combined. Serve with desired garnishes.
