If someone in your family thinks oatmeal is boring, they’re about to be happily surprised. This easy peanut butter chocolate chip oatmeal recipe is like having a delicious dessert for breakfast. Creamy, chocolatey and a serious treat in the morning (or anytime). Bonus: it’s on the table in only about 10 minutes!

Ingredients

Here’s how to make it:

In a medium-sized saucepan, bring water and salt and cinnamon (if using) to a boil. Reduce heat and stir in oatmeal. Simmer for about 4 or 5 minutes, until oatmeal reaches desired consistency.

Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter, maple syrup and 2 tablespoons of dark chocolate chips. Scoop oatmeal into two bowls. Sprinkle the remaining tablespoon of chocolate chips on top of each serving. Garnish with chopped walnuts, if desired. Serve immediately.

Elisa A. Schmitz 30Seconds , this made my stomach growl, so I had to make it. I cut the recipe in half, used the cinnamon, used honey instead of maple syrup and pecans instead of walnuts. Wow. So rich and good. It was a first for me eating oatmeal for lunch and by the pool! lol
