Scrolling Facebook this morning paid off for me. Someone had posted about Joanna Gaines' snickerdoodle coffee recipe. They had me at snickerdoodle and coffee. I went straight from bed to the kitchen and made myself a cup of this creamy cookie coffee. Delicious.
Remembering on an episode of Fixer Upper that Chip had made the comment to Joanna when handing her a cup of coffee that it's more cream than coffee, I knew I'd like this hot beverage recipe. I get it, Joanna. I tend to go heavy on the cream, too.
To make Joanna Gaines' snickerdoodle coffee recipe you will need just five simple ingredients. Here is what to grab from your fridge and pantry: coffee to brew, milk, brown sugar, ground cinnamon (check out the health benefits of cinnamon) and nutmeg. While your coffee brews, shake the other ingredients in a mason jar, microwave until hot and then pour into your hot cup of coffee. So easy.
A steaming mug of this frothy snickerdoodle coffee is wonderful in the morning with breakfast, would be a fun addition to a brunch spread and would even be nice as a dessert after dinner. Who says dessert can't come in a mug?

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup milk (I used oat milk)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- dash of nutmeg
- 1/2 cup brewed coffee, hot
Here's how to make it:
- Put the milk, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg into a mason jar. (You could add other baking spices if you'd like.)
- Put the jar into the microwave and heat until hot, about 1 minute.
- Carefully shake the mason jar vigorously until it foams.
- Pour the hot coffee into a mug.
- Pour the milk mixture into the coffee.
- Give it a gentle stir.
- Garnish the top with more cinnamon and nutmeg. (I also sprinkled on some gingerbread seasoning.) Enjoy!
