I have nothing against anchovy paste. Back in the day, I made this Caesar salad dressing all the time that used anchovy paste. A lot of us, however, don't keep anchovy paste in the fridge, but still want a quick and easy Caesar dressing for salads, wraps and sandwiches. This is my favorite shortcut Caesar salad dressing recipe.
To make this homemade salad dressing recipe you only need six simple ingredients. Here is what to gather from your fridge and pantry: mayonnaise, fresh garlic, a lemon for juicing, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce and Parmesan cheese. Check out the health benefits of garlic and the health benefits of Parmesan cheese.
This creamy Caesar salad dressing without eggs or anchovies can be used in so many different ways. Use it on a classic Caesar salad, as sauce for sandwiches or wraps, as a creamy dip for vegetables, croutons or pasta chips, or drizzle over grilled chicken breasts, fish or shrimp.
Fun Fact: Caesar salad dressing (and the salad) originated in Tijuana, Mexico, in 1924. The classic salad and dressing was invented by Caesar Cardini, an Italian-American restaurateur.
