It doesn't have to be fall to enjoy applesauce, but autumn is definitely the perfect season to get creative with it. I've been making recipes using chunky cinnamon applesauce because it's such a wonderful way to celebrate the season. This creamy high-protein cinnamon applesauce oatmeal recipe is my latest fave!
Starting my day with a protein-packed breakfast has become more of a priority, and incorporating healthy cottage cheese a great way to do that. When you combine oatmeal and cottage cheese, you get the health benefits of oats and the health benefits of protein in one amazing dish. Oats offer an important source of vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants.
To make this gluten-free oatmeal recipe, you need only three wholesome ingredients: quick-cook oats, cottage cheese and chunky cinnamon applesauce. The texture of the cottage cheese blends into the texture of the oatmeal and the chunkiness of the applesauce. You simply cook the oatmeal according to package directions then mix in the other two ingredients. You can add optional toppings like berries or chopped nuts, too.
Serve this quick and delish oatmeal recipe for breakfast throughout the week. It makes a cozy weekend brunch, too!
