Who can resist chips and dips? When you bring out the chips and dips the atmosphere changes. Who can resist smiling when they're dipping crisp tortilla chips into cold or hot dips? Not me! Another thing I love is a recipe with minimal ingredients and cooking time. This two-ingredient chili cheese dip recipe hits on both notes. The creamy, hot dip takes minutes to prep and cooks in about three minutes.
To make this chili cheese dip recipe you need two ingredients. Here is your super short shopping list: a can of chili and cream cheese. The two ingredients are melted together then served with corn chips or tortilla chips. The cream cheese lightens the chili taste and creates a delicious dip for parties, tailgating or cookouts.
We preferred dipping scoop-size corn chips into this hot dip, but tortilla were pretty delicious, too. You could use homemade chili in this recipe. For some heat, stir in some pickled jalapenos.
This is one cream cheese-based dip recipe you will make over and over again as an appetizer or snack.
Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 2 minutes
Cook Time: 3 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes
Servings: 12
Ingredients
- 14 ounces (1 can) chili
- 8 ounces cream cheese
Here's how to make it:
- Put the cream cheese and chili into a microwave-safe bowl. You can use any type of canned chili you like (beans, no beans, vegetarian, beef, etc.). Microwave until hot.
- Microwave a minute or two more if it still needs heating through. To cook in a saucepot, stir together over low heat until melted together and hot.
- Serve with corn chips or tortilla chips. The dip can easily be reheated in the microwave. Store the dip in an airtight container in the fridge. Reheat in the microwave.
