I love this creamy feta salad dressing and dip recipe. The thick and creamy feta dressing is just the right consistency to give some great depth to a dish like this delicious avocado and corn salad or just to level up a simple vegetable platter. I splashed the homemade salad dressing on top of a piece of baked salmon, too, and it made it extra moist and special.
To make this creamy salad dressing recipe you only need six ingredients. Here is your shopping list: feta cheese, buttermilk (see Recipe Notes for substitutions), a lemon for zesting and and juicing, fresh garlic, fresh chives and fresh parsley.

Ingredients
- 4 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
- 1/3 cup buttermilk
- 1 lemon, juiced and zested
- 1 garlic clove, grated
- 1/4 cup sliced fresh chives
- 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley
Recipe Notes
- I almost never have buttermilk in the house so use this easy substitution: 1 cup milk to 1 tablespoon lemon juice or white vinegar. So for the 1/3 cup buttermilk use 1/3 cup milk and 1 teaspoon lemon juice or white vinegar.
- Store the dressing in an airtight container, mason jar or salad dressing cruet in the fridge.
Here's how to make it:
- Put the feta into a mixing bowl. Use clean hands to mash the feta into a powdery paste.
- Add buttermilk, lemon zest and juice, garlic, chives, parsley and some salt and black pepper.
- Taste to see if more seasonings are needed.
