Mouth-Watering Maple Dijon Soy Citrus Baked Salmon Recipe (5 Ingredients, 20 Minutes)

One of the reasons I love making salmon is because of the endless flavor combinations. Salmon is a flexible protein that tastes absolutely delicious when paired with a wide variety of sauces and marinades.

My most recent salmon dinner is this mouth-watering maple Dijon soy citrus baked salmon recipe. I love the contrast between the sweet maple, tangy Dijon, savory soy and citrusy orange notes. The combination of ingredients creates a fascinating flavor that I will be making again and again. Salmon is nutritious, delicious and easy to make, too (check out all the health benefits of salmon).

Here's the simple ingredients list for this delicious seafood dinner recipe: fresh salmon, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, soy sauce and orange juice. You prepare the sauce then spread it over the salmon in a baking dish. You then bake the salmon for only about 15 minutes until it's ready!

I served this savory salmon dish with a baked potato and a side salad for a scrumptious low-calorie meal. It also would be delicious served with rice, pasta or your favorite side dishes.

Recipe Notes

  • I squeezed my own fresh orange juice, but you can use bottled fresh-squeezed orange juice in a pinch.
  • Feel free to use more or less Dijon mustard and/or soy sauce, depending on your tastes.
  • If you want this recipe to be gluten-free, use gluten-free soy sauce or tamari.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Reheat in the microwave.

Here's how to make it:

  1. Place the salmon filet in a casserole dish or baking pan (I lined mine with aluminum foil for easier cleanup). Season with salt and pepper, if desired.
  2. In a small mixing bowl or measuring cup, add the maple syrup, mustard, soy sauce and orange juice. Stir to combine, creating the sauce.
  3. Pour the sauce over the salmon, ensuring the salmon is covered in the sauce.
  4. Bake the salmon at 375 degrees F for about 15 minutes, or until desired doneness. Salmon is done when it reaches 145 degrees F on a food thermometer. Remove from oven and serve with your favorite side dishes.
