Easy Honey Soy Chicken Thighs Recipe Is One-Pan Flavor Magic by Elisa Schmitz

Easy Honey Soy Chicken Thighs Recipe Is One-Pan Flavor Magic

The first time I tried blending honey with soy sauce, I fell in love with the flavor combination. When you pair sweet honey with savory soy sauce, you create flavor magic. I used it in this easy recipe for honey soy citrus salmon and it created a sweet and savory explosion of flavors. That's why I decided to try it with chicken thighs.

This easy, seven-ingredient honey soy chicken thighs recipe is one-pan flavor magic. Here's what you need in order to make this moist and juicy chicken dinner: chicken thighs, honey, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, onion, garlic and red wine vinegar. You whisk together the sauce then spread it over the chicken in a skillet. Then you just simmer it until it's done, so easy!

This gluten-free chicken recipe is so simple, and quick enough to make for dinner any night of the week. I served this flavorful, budget-friendly chicken over turmeric rice (to soak up the yummy sauce) with a side of sauteed vegetables, but you can serve it with any of your favorite side dishes.

Recipe Notes

  • If you like a little heat, feel free to add a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes.
  • Instead of regular soy sauce, you can use low-sodium soy sauce, gluten-free soy sauce or tamari.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Here's how to make it:

  1. To a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil, onions and garlic. Stir to combine.
  2. Add the chicken to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper, if desired.
  3. Simmer over medium heat until chicken starts to cook through, about 5 minutes.
  4. To a mixing bowl, add the honey, soy sauce, Dijon mustard and red wine vinegar. Whisk to combine. Pour the sauce into the skillet.
  5. Stir to combine, ensuring the chicken is covered in the sauce.
  6. Cook the chicken for about 10 more minutes, or until desired doneness. Chicken is done when it reaches 165 degrees F on a food thermometer. Remove from heat and serve over rice and/or with your favorite side dishes.

This dish couldn't be any easier to make and yes, the flavor is truly delicious. I'm curious about how it will taste with beef, so I may try that next!
